mwdgButon (anche mwdwButung o mweaBoeton) è un'mweqisola dell'mwegIndonesia localizzata a sud-est dell'isola di mwewSulawesi.

Buton si affaccia sul mwfqMar di Banda, e le principali isole limitrofe sono mwfgWowoni a nord, mwfwMuna e mwgaKabaena ad ovest e Siumpu a sud-ovest. L'mwgqarcipelago delle isole Tukangbesi è situato più a est ed è separato dal golfo di Kolowana Watabo (mwhaTeluk Kolowana Watabo).

L'isola è abitata da circa 500.000 persone, e mwhgBau-Bau è il principale centro abitato con circa 120.000 abitanti.
